Florence, otherwise known as Finian or Finghín (c.1562–.1640), flexible in his loyalties (England, Spain, his wife Eileen and the MacCarthy clan) but, above all else, steadfast in his commitment to his own interests and to Catholicism. His final 40 years saw confinement in London, mainly in the Tower where much of the material in this book was compiled. A remarkable collection of documents about a fascinating person. Facsimile of 1867 first edition. Unlike somme other Miros Press books, the quality of reproduction is good. A heavy book. Will incur extra postal costs outside Ireland.
