Third Edition. 19 x 13 cm. vi, 350 pages. With a frontispiece and two more plates. Original green cloth with gilt title on spine. Good condition. Binding rubbed and bumped. Spine ends frayed. Hinges cracked. Binding a little shaky, but holding. Free end papers missing. Some pages dog-eared, some rough cut, but not affecting text block. Joseph Hardy Neesima (1843 - 1890) was a Japanese missionary and educator of the Meiji era who founded Doshisha University and Doshisha Women's College of Liberal Arts. (Wikipedia).
