Folio. viii, 100 pages. The binding of the book measures 14 inches tall by 11 1/2 inches wide. Hardcover bound in early half red morocco with grey paper-covered boards. The binding is worn and bumped but sound. Some damping on the exterior of the front cover with part of the leather pushed back near the spine. Corners bumped and abraded. There is a dig in the leather on the spine near the headcap. Hinges rubbed but holding. A bookplate on the front pastedown is of "George E. R. Dalton" (George Edward Robert Dalton, Master Mariner) and is hand-dated 1906. The bookplate has a crest with a left-facing standing lion topped by a helmet and crown with the top of another left-facing lion above that. Crest motto reads, "Noli Irretare Leonem" (meaning "Don't Disturb the Lion"). This volume lacks the frontis portrait, but it does have the facsimile letter, 10 full-page engraved plates, and 2 folding (double-page) plates as called for in the Instructions to the Binder at the rear. The text has some foxing, especially near the plates. The double-page plate of Nelson's Funeral Car has a split at the bottom of the fold (split remaining in the margin). Seller Inventory # 048976
