Still Life with Memory: A Love Story That Refuses to Be Forgotten

When software engineer Ethan Hayes wandered into a small art gallery in New York City, he didn’t expect to fall in love with a barefoot oil painter named Maya Sinclair. She painted oceans; he wrote code. Their worlds couldn’t have been more different, yet something in her brushstrokes spoke directly to his soul.

Years later, their love has endured across miles, time, and tragedy—now tested more than ever by a mysterious, prolonged sleep brought on by Maya’s rare neurological condition. As Ethan waits beside her in their Vero Beach home, he records voice memos, clings to memories, and reads her the story of their life—hoping it will help her find her way back.

But when Maya finally opens her eyes, she remembers something Ethan never knew—a child. As past heartbreak and present hope collide, Ethan and Maya must navigate the fragile terrain of memory, loss, and second chances.

Still Life with Memory is a sweeping love story about holding on when everything fades, about finding connection through silence, and about how true love remains—even when time, trauma, and sleep threaten to erase it.
