See photos for condition details. Hardcover, read full leather binding ornately decorated in gilt on board edges and spine. The reason for the condition grade of poor is because both boards are detached and spine shows quite a bit of chipping with only about 30% being present. The internal binding is in much better shape though, marbled end pages in front and rear are present and attached and binding of the text pages is tight. The light blue foldout map is present and in excellent shape. First reprint edition with introduction by Cyrus Adler which states that 9,000 copies were to be printed for the use of the House and Senate. This copy has a small label on the title page which reads: "House of Representatives. Document No. 755. 58th Congress, 2d Session" which shows this was one of those limited copies printed for the House and Senate. The second front end page contains a gift inscription which reads: "To - Chas. A. Baker and Emma K. Baker with blood from Leigh + Lucie. Dec. 25, 1908". No other handwriting found in book. Pages are lightly toned due to age but pages are clean with only very light foxing/spotting scattered about. Unpaginated.
