Board edges light-moderately worn, gilt dulled, one gathering slightly sprung, could be lacking a front blank. Owner's name and address on front yellow endpaper, dated June 1895. Laid in, an engraved portrait of Seton, which because of sheet size does not fit flush with title page a tipped-in frontispiece, but could tip in and fit propertly elsewhere within the text. With extracts from her writings and an historical sketch of the Sisterhood from its foundation to the time of her death. Elizabeth Ann Seton (1774-1821) was the first American to be canonized a saint. Various institutions named after her.; 7.75 x 5 inches; 462 pages.
