Brown marblized leather binding in which the front board has come completely loose. Leather is scuffed and worn, especially spine and corners. Title has torn away from spine, now unreadable. Frontispiece present. Some old water damage is present. Interior pages have substantial foxing, but are otherwise clean without marginalia. Some pencil marks and ownership information on pastedown and flyleaf. The chapters contain biographical information about Flechere's life and work in Madeley, Trevecka, Newington, and Switzerland, his polemical and controversial writings, his marriage, his illness and death, and his character. Hardcover. Condition: acceptable. 356 pages plus epitaph and index, 12mo.
