It's Life

What if the purpose of life is simpler than we've made it?

For thousands of years, religion, philosophy and science have offered competing answers to one of humanity's oldest questions: Why are we here?

It's Life takes a different approach.

Tenzin Rigsel strips the question back to first principles and proposes a provocative but remarkably simple idea: beneath everything we've been taught to believe, we are all searching for essentially the same thing - inner peace. Not somebody else's version of happiness. Not wealth, status, religion or approval. The deeply personal sense that you are living the life that is right for you.

But if that's what we're looking for, why do so many of us struggle to find it?

From the moment we're born, life begins painting on a blank canvas. Family. Education. Culture. Religion. Friends. Media. Experiences. Fear. Expectations. Layer upon layer of conditioning gradually shapes what we think, what we believe and ultimately how we behave - often without us ever consciously choosing it.

It's Life asks you to look beneath those layers.

Drawing together philosophy, spirituality, psychology and a deliberately speculative model of our place within the wider Universe, Rigsel explores the relationship between thought, action, conditioning, consciousness and purpose - while being clear about where established fact ends and personal interpretation begins.

At its heart is an extraordinarily practical proposition:

Change the thought. Change the action. Change the outcome.

You'll explore how to:

• recognise the conditioning that has shaped the person you think you are;
• distinguish automatic reactions from conscious choices;
• intercept thoughts before old patterns determine what happens next;
• use mindfulness throughout everyday life rather than treating it simply as meditation;
• understand why Thought + Action = Outcome is central to creating meaningful change; and
• begin defining and pursuing your version of inner peace.

And this isn't intended to end with the final chapter.

The book includes an extensive 24-week Control Your Thoughts course and a 30-day positive-action planner, turning its ideas into a structured programme you can actually put into practice.

You don't have to accept every idea in this book. In fact, you're invited not to.

You only have to be willing to question what you already believe.

Because perhaps finding the meaning of life isn't about discovering something outside yourself. Perhaps it's about removing enough of what the world has painted over you to rediscover what was there all along.
