Half leather binding by Root & Son, with their stamp to the reverse of the front end paper, gilt titled and decorated spines, faded to brown from green, top page edges gilt, others tanned, marbled paper covered boards and end papers, text blocks tight, pages tanned with some foxing. Rubbed and worn with minor loss to the spine top edges.
