Hardcover tan leather in three volumes with decorative leaf edges; bindings tight. Prior owner handwritten on FFEP of all three volume; otherwise no obvious internal markings. Minor water stains present: volume one FFEP and leaf with frontis (not obscuring the image of Samuel Johnson) and volumes two and three leaf edges (focal) . Top of spine chipped on volume three. Some light toning to the pages, patchy foxing and wear to the boards and spines. Otherwise, bindings tight with no loose leaves. Nice readable copies.
