This Anglo-Latin work introduces a narrative about Saint Othmar, requested by the monks of Saint Gall, detailing his virtuous life and contributions to monasticism. It describes how Othmar, of Alemannic descent, was appointed abbot of the cell of Saint Gall through royal authority and the influence of Count Victor. This work emphasizes Othmar's moral integrity, his reforms to enhance the monastic community, and his success in attracting others to a life of devotion. The narrative serves both as a tribute to Othmar's legacy and a call to readers to seek further evidence of his virtues.
