Life on The Stand

What do artist models think about while posing nude on the stand? Do they watch you as much as you watch them? Are they musing about their misadventures or what they want to do when they put their clothes back on and go home? Is it possible that they are living, breathing bodies who may be reminiscing about their trips to Europe, Morocco or New York City? Are they perhaps cold, itchy or trying not to sneeze? Was it different for artist models in the 1970's in Los Angeles or San Francisco? What were the union rules for those in the San Francisco Model's Guild? What about the world of theatre? Is it very different from the world of artist modeling? The answers to all these pressing questions are in this memoir, Life on The Stand.

Helene is an award-winning author, actor, director and teacher. Her poems, stories, and plays have been published over 32 times. She is an active member of the Bay Area theatre scene and frequent contributor to the podcast Coffee Contrails and Santa Cruz Actors Theatre.
