The Life and Times of Mary Tudor

Hardback. This is the story of an unhappy woman, humiliated by her father as a young girl, and forcibly separated from her mother she loved; forced to dissemble her true beliefs at the court of Henry VIII, and fighting for her freedom of religious worship under Edward VI. She found happiness for a short time with her husband, Philip of Spain, who managed, by his kindness, to overcome her great hatred of sex' but circumstances separated them, and in her last days, as an all-powerful and much-feared Queen, she was as unhappy as she had been as a persecuted girl in her youth. Illustrated. 224 pp. (We carry a wide selection of titles in The Arts, Theology, History, Politics, Social and Physical Sciences. academic and scholarly books and Modern First Editions etc.).
