About the Author

Born in Liverpool, England, William E. Payne immigrated to Canada in 1959 and spent his life in the pastorate, preaching, teaching, and counselling. He pastored two churches before founding Trinity Baptist Church, in Burlington, Ontario, where he remained for 24 years till his death in 1997. He also taught Pastoral Theology and Homiletics for 15 years at Toronto Baptist Seminary. He edited Reformation Canada, wrote several pamphlets and was a noted conference speaker. Bill was an able expositor of the Word of God and was a leading proponent of the Reformed movement in Canada.
