Life's A Scream

Imprisoned in a Nazi Concentration Camp with her mother, Ingrid Pitt survived against the odds. When the camp was liquidated, Ingrid and her mother found shelter in a forest with partisans. The events of the first ten years of her life shaped the woman she is today.
Determined to become an actress, Ingrid accepted a job at the prestigious Berliner Ensemble, under the guidance of Bertold Brecht's widow, Helene Weigel. After the Berlin Wall went up her outspoken criticism of the East German government brought her to the attention of the Volkspolizei. Fleeing from them, she dived into the River Spree and was rescued by a handsome US Lieutenant. She later married him and went to America.
Following the break-up of her marriage, Ingrid flew to Spain and was 'discovered' whilst watching a bullfight. After several Spanish films she went to Hollywood and her international career was launched in Where Eagles Dare with Richard Burton and Clint Eastwood. Not long after this she was offered leading roles in Hammer Films and her career took off.
