Lifting the Lockdown

"Lifting the Lockdown" goes beyond identifying problems; it offers concrete, evidence-based strategies for change. It details proactive and restorative approaches, emphasizing the importance of social and emotional learning (SEL), comprehensive school mental health systems, and community engagement. The book also tackles the complexities of armed security in schools, arguing for gun-free alternatives and advocating for policy changes that support sustainable, holistic safety measures. Ultimately, "Lifting the Lockdown" envisions a future where schools are not only safe but also nurturing environments that prioritize the well-being and academic success of every student.
