Reprint. 339pp. 6pp. of advertisements. Original red cloth, gilt-stamped spine title. Hinges cracked, cloth soiled, spine ends and corners rubbed and bumped, about very good being R.L. Rusk's copy with his name and his daughter's name penned on the front endpapers, lacking the scarce dustwrapper. Rusk taught English at the University of the Philippines, 1912-1914. Ralph Leslie Rusk was a Professor Emeritus of American Literature at Columbia University, New York, New York. In 1950, he was the first winner of the National Book Award for Nonfiction for *The Life of Ralph Waldo Emerson*, published by Charles Scribner's Sons in 1949. Seller Inventory # 422040
