About this Item
Here is a scare book, an edition rarely seen on the open market -- "Light On The Path : A Treatise Written for the Personal Use of Those Who Are Ignorant of the Eastern Wisdom, and Who Desire to Enter Within Its Influence: A Treatise", Written Down by M. C.
This rare 1908 edition was issued only with those initials M. C. , thus being essentially anonymous. But the world quickly knew that the author was Mabel Collins. The book, bound in red leather, with a small gilt cartouche in the upper corner, which depicts a gateway, with the rising sun shining through along a path. At the top, just over the title is an Egyptian style winged sun. The book was issued in 1908 by the Theosophical Publishing Company, in New York. It includes Collins' essay on Karma.
Occult tradition has it that Collins transcribed the words transmitted to her by an ascended "Master of Wisdom" known as Master Hilarion. But Collins, herself, denied this, saying that she wrote the book on her own. She was, for a while connected with the Theosophical Society, but left the Society in 1889. "Light on the Path was first published in 1886.

On the whole the exterior presents well.
