Light: Re-Interpreting Architecture (Transformations)

The public and private realm responds increasingly to new demands, uses and functions - often across the space of 24 hours. Light, both natural and artificial is the main means by which we experience our surroundings and is the medium that defines colour, depth, space and volume. It is now one of the most versatile and effective techniques for achieving radical visual and functional transformations. Light is the first book in a series which focuses on the ways in which designers and architects can brilliantly change and re-interpret buildings, structures and exterior space. Skillfully applied, lighting can be used to reinforce and articulate our public environment, re-defining existing perceptions and assumptions about the world.
