Quarto hardcover in navy blue cloth lettered and lined in gilt. Fine, hint of foxing to the fore edge of the text block/ issued without dust jacket. VI+ 94 pp. Illustrated with full page photographic plates. Laid in is a typed form letter with signature of U.S. Grabt 3rd as Director. Beautifully presented celebration of the Lincoln Memorial, prepared under the direction of the Director of Public Buildings and Public Parks of The National Capital. The work opens with a biographical sketch of Lincoln by Helen Nicolay. Includes sections on the inception and history of the Memorial, a report on the site, architecture of the memorial, the Lincoln statue, a chronological history of the construction, the laying of the cornerstone, the dedication by William Howard Taft to President Harding on behalf of the United States government, administration and guarding the Memorial, and the Arlington Memorial Bridge.
