Lisa, the Shell-Less Turtle

Meet Lisa,

A happy, friendly, and playful young turtle who also happens to be the only shell-less turtle in school. Being shell-less is great most of the time, but being different isn’t always easy, and Lisa wishes she had a shell of her own.

With the help of her friends, Sheldon and Rochelle, Lisa starts a fun and exciting new project that teaches valuable lessons about friendship, kindness, working together, and being proud of who you are.

A delight for readers of all ages, Lisa and friends inspire joy and enthusiasm on every page, engaging young readers with lovable characters and familiar situations they can relate to.

Join in this celebration of friendship and sing along as Lisa discovers how great it feels to be shell-less!

Meet The Author And Illustrator:

James Williamson is a science writer and first-time children’s book author based in Palo Alto, CA. When he’s not writing, James enjoys spending time with friends and family, traveling, fly-fishing, and exploring the great outdoors.

“I’m grateful to be able to share this beautifully illustrated, imaginative, and uplifting story with you. The Lisa story was inspired by my daughter and is written for kids like her (roughly 5-7 years of age) who are just starting out in school and can relate to the story and its characters. Enjoy!”

Tami Boyce, an illustrator with a fun and whimsical style, is based in Charleston, South Carolina.

“Holding a pencil in my hand has been my passion for as long as I can remember. We live in a very serious world, and I like to use my quirky style to remind us of the love, joy, and humor that is often overlooked around us.”
