Little Bear: First Words Around Town

Little learners will enjoy these fun concept board books that are sure to help build their vocabulary with illustrations in REAL everyday settings.

Look, it’s a bus stop! A cash register! A bulldozer! When Little Bear heads into town with his Mom, he encounters so many things! Kids will love tagging along as Little Bear visits the grocery store, the swimming pool, the park, and more, finding interesting things to point out along the way. Each spread features an interesting scene on one page, while the other shows the everyday items Little Bear spots with each object’s name underneath. This fun, interactive approach to learning words also includes a seek-and-find element kids will love.

Elsa Martins has a background in photography and graphic design graduating with a Master’s Degree in Communication Design. The delicacy and humanity that is evident in her work is reflective of her personality. “I want to make other people happy”, she declares firmly. She has a very instinctual approach, often being so immersed in the illustration that she couldn’t say where the inspiration came from. “Most of the time I just do what feels right. But knowing what feels right comes from experience.” She has created books for Usbourne, Familius Publishing, Workman Publishing, Éditions Lito, S&S Alliance, and Alfarroba. Elsa lives in Setubal, Portugal with her dog ‘Tosta’ (Portuguese for Toast!)
