About the Author

Rolf Schick is Professor Emeritus of Geophysics at the University of Stuttgart, Germany. Most of his research focuses on physical volcanology. He is engaged in a working group on seismic phenomena at the European Seismological Commission. Rolf Schick contributed to several TV documentaries on tectonic activity worldwide.
