Little Boy Big World (Paperback or Softback)

Little Boy Big World tells the tale of a young Afghan boy and his experiences growing up in war-torn Afghanistan. Hayat is that boy, and his real-world story covers his life from adolescence to young adulthood in 2015. You will be both amazed and moved by Hayat's story, which chronicles routine family life in a male-dominated society, his village's struggles against a violent regime, and the fight to secure education for boys and girls alike. You also see a happy and enthusiastic Hayat, one who loves his father and mother deeply and who never fails to think of others-especially his siblings and best friend Juma-when an occasion arises. One day, events open Hayat's innocent eyes to a terrifying reality-one that will live with him forever. He overcomes, but is soon thrust into the lifestyle his father's work demands and, to meet those demands, is forced to grow up at an age when most boys are still in school and playing sports.
