Review
Little Evil Things is a 58-minute series of five short horror stories enhanced with state of the art music and sound design which totally immerses the listener in an imaginative, unique and horrifying experience that is spellbinding. Transformation describes a man's first-hand experience becoming a werewolf; in Little Evil Thing a woman gets more than she bargains for when she rescues a strange little creature; beware the little boy with the power to control minds in The Quiet Child. The man with classic chase nightmares meets with a surprising end in It's After Me!; and in Parasites a greedy man gets his just desserts as creatures invade his body and make his life a living hell! The technical values of the recordings are flawless and the stories themselves are shuddersomely delightful. -- Midwest Book Review, James Cox, October 1997
Little Evil Things, a new independent Audio company dedicated to horror and science fiction, is off to a fine start with this spine-shivering collection of five original spooky tales. What makes this audio unique is its film-like musical score. The audiobook's co-author Macchia, an award-winning composer, tailored the original music to the actors' performances. The result is a perfect marriage of words and music that sets an effective, creepy atmosphere. The stories are well-written and include one about a woman who finds a strange creature that unleashes evil powers when she brings it home as a pet. In another story, a little boy has the power to control people's minds, in another a man who ignores a dire warning is cursed with tiny worms invading his body. Listeners will look forward to the next release by this intriguing new audio company. -- Billboard, Trudi Miller Rosenblum, November 8, 1997
Also worth a listen is Tracy London's and Frank Macchia's audio cassette or CD, Little Evil Things. It's the first volume that presents five tales of fear and terror if you enjoy being scared silly! For those old enough to remember the old radio shows this will prove a treat. Younger listeners (not too young, please) will enjoy them for their excellent stories and production values. -- Bookviews, Alan Caruba, December 1997
