Mr. Munawar Alam has 44 years of experience across the private sector, government, consulting, and the Asian Development Bank (ADB), where he last served as Advisor, Office of the Compliance Review Panel.
He has worked in India, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, and Manila, with expertise in implementing major infrastructure projects in transport, energy, and urban development sectors, including post-disaster emergency programs.
His professional experience spans Afghanistan, India, the Philippines, the Netherlands, Saudi Arabia, Sri Lanka, Cambodia, and Vietnam. He holds a civil engineering degree from IIT Varanasi and a master's in urban environmental and sanitary engineering from IHE-UNESCO, Netherlands.
