About this Item
Three attractive books by Elbert Hubbard, printed at his Roycroft Press. First editions. Three volumes of Hubbard's nine-volume work, Little Journeys to the Homes of the Great. Elbert Green Hubbard (June 19, 1856 May 7, 1915) was an American writer, publisher, artist, and philosopher. Raised in Hudson, Illinois, he met early success as a travelling salesman with the Larkin soap company. Today Hubbard is mostly known as the founder of the Roycroft artisan community in East Aurora, New York, an influential exponent of the Arts and Crafts Movement. With a drawing of each musician to the frontispiece of each volume. Decorative title pages and capitals to each volume in the distinctive style of the Arts and Crafts movement. The capitals of the Chopin volume have been neatly hand-coloured in red. In half morocco bindings with moire-covered boards. Externally, generally smart with slight wear to extremities. Internally, firmly bound, bright and clean. Very Good Indeed. Seller Inventory # SET3-C-6
