Miss Mulock was Dinah Maria Mulock Craik and she wrote under both Mulock and Craik. Hope Dunlap's medieval style illustrations are well suited to the fairy tale genre. Here, she contributes color paintings - some full page and one double page - and black & white drawings. An attractive version of this fantasy. Though his legs don't work, the cloak allows him to move about and see the world. The author, Dinah Maria Mulock Craik ("Miss Mulock") was a prolific 19th-century author of children's stories. First published by Rand McNally, this edition features color illustrations by Hope Dunlap. With a biography of the author at rear of volume. --- In mustard cloth-covered boards with illustrations to front cover, titling in red and black to cover and spine. --- With substantial edgewear. Some interior leaves creased and torn and/or tape-repaired. Library materials' removal at back endpapers has left remnants behind. Overall volume well worn, but the outstanding color illustrations by Hope Dunlap well compensate for the damage. Library markings minimal. ; Ex-Library; 9 in. wide x 5-1/4 in. tall; 128 pages. Condition overall is Good-: stitched binding is secure, but somewhat shaky. About 10 pages have some crayon scribbling, else unmarked. Random soiled spots throughout. Heavy rubbing to extremities & bumped corners.
