PreSchool-Grade 1?Two slight stories starring the same characters. In the first tale, Little Pig kicks her ball over Dan Dog's head. When he doesn't come back with it, she starts crying and one by one is joined by Tabby Cat, Fat Hen, Big Duck, and Lucy Goose. Dan Dog finally reappears, ball in hand, and all begin to laugh. In the second story, Red Fox is out hunting for dinner when he spies Little Pig dancing and Dan Dog fiddling. As the tempo increases, the other animals join in. Red Fox can resist the beat no longer. Out he jumps, bragging that he'll show everyone how to dance. He becomes so involved that he doesn't realize until too late that the music has faded and his dinner has danced away. Bright, cartoonlike illustrations are set on the spring green of forest clearings. Done in watercolor and ink, they cover the pages. Strictly additional purchases.?Diane S.
