In overall good used condition with some signs of handling and storage - original illustrated grey cloth boards are rubbed to edges and spine tanned. Internally clean. Front board becoming loose - front hinge cracked, no annotations - shadow of an inscription dated 1888 in the slight tanning to ffep; toning to page-ends but text and illustrations generally clean and clear throughout with one or two fingerprints. Frontispiece retains original tissue-paper guard. Not an old library book. Photograph available.
