Reviews
PreSchool-K-- Little Rabbit Foo Foo hops through the forest, picking up various creatures--field mice, wriggly worms, tigers, and goblins--and bopping them on the head with his red mallet. The Good Fairy warns him to stop, but finally turns him into a goon. This slightly retold version of a popular children's song has a lot of energy; unfortunately, Rosen includes neither music nor even a preface to let readers know that the tune is the same as "Down by the Railroad." The illustrations are bright, cheerful, and clearly detailed, if somewhat reminiscent of Saturday morning cartoons. Amusing, but not an essential purchase--acting out the song is still more fun than reading it aloud. --JoAnn Rees, Sunnyvale Public Library, CA
