A Little Further Off: The Second Collection of Diverse Short Stories

This collection of fictional short stories is akin to a cabinet of curiosities inspired by the rich full life of the author. A government agent is on a mission to eradicate a species of man-eating fairies. A homeless man befriends a blue-eyed talking rat. A group of desperate geriatrics dispense punishment. A ghostly boy protects his sister. On a dare, a biker retrieves a box from a deserted house. College students make the horrific discovery of a vampiric beech tree. Time-traveling excursions land an antiquarian in the 1800s. And after an attack leaves a young man hospitalized and disfigured, he wakes to find himself gifted with the ability of possession to enact revenge.
