The Liturgical Dancer

From poet Edie La-Chelle comes The Liturgical Dancer: A Dance of Rage, Reconciliation, and Resurrection, a superbly moving collection of poetry that explores the beauty of what it means to be a woman living life with Divine purpose. Vivid imagery and tangible emotion illustrate the process of moving beyond past tragedies, struggles, and mishaps, and then coming to know what it means to embrace the power that is God.

The Liturgical Dancer journeys through the movement of traumatic encounters with very raw, intense emotions related to abandonment, parental disappointments, and rape. Its poems unveil the secrecy and taboo of enduring heartache and pain leftover from a family's impact on a woman's life and the lives of others who surround her. Illustrated within these pages is a timeline transitioning from rage and poignant drama to moments of reconciliation filled with love and peace that lead to personal resurrection and purposeful living.
