He served over thirty years as spiritual assistant of the Secular Franciscan Order of the Franciscans of St. John the Baptist Province in Cincinnati and nine years as executive secretary for the North American Federation of the Third Order of St. Francis in the United States and Canada. Patti Normile, S.F.O., has served as fraternity minister and formation director for the Secular Franciscan Order in Cincinnati and editor of the National Fraternity newsletter, TAU-USA.
