26 Lively Letters: Making an ABC Quiet Book

This is a craft book with a difference, for it shows parents, teachers, and others with young children in their care how to make and assemble an absolutely unique alphabet book whose pages are made of real cloth and whose colorful illustrations are cut, sewn, drawn, or glued right onto the actual pages. The best thing about this book is that every letter of the alphabet – from A (an Airplane whose propeller will spin) to Z (a Zoo whose gates open to reveal a Zebra) – is represented by an object having a novel activity feature of some kind: pigtails to braid, shoe laces to tie, big owl eyes to open and close. Bright and imaginative and made from inexpensive everyday materials, this book is fun to construct and is sure to keep even the most restless youngster interested, amused, and quiet. Full-size patterns, photographs, and clear instructions are provided, making this book as easy to do as ABC!
