John Brice is a retired GP in Ulverston, Cumbria. He discovered a creative streak in early lockdown and began compiling a daily word puzzle which he posted on the Ulverston Self Isolation Group Facebook Page.
He found that 8 to 9 am was generally his creative hour.
The puzzles cover a variety of subject matter, mostly of a country or world-wide nature, but with a few very locally-based themes.
The number of questions varies - this was entirely dependent on that day's inspiration level!
Many of the clues are phonetic.
In generic puzzles like e.g. Ulverston Streets, the clue is to the 'stem'. There are no clues for 'Street', Road, etc. That could end up being repetitive!
A few puzzles are compiled by others and due acknowledgments of these are made.
