Locked Up but Not Locked Down: A Guide to Surviving the American Prison System

Supreme Design Publishing continues our mission of mentally preparing the Urban Community for the potholes on the road to success. Authors Ahmariah Jackson and IAtomic Allah mentally condition the reader for one of the most dehumanizing psychological processes known to man: incarceration. They offer true stories, unwritten rules, personal anecdotes and guidelines for managing, all learned on their own tumultuous journeys through the correctional system. First timers and seasoned prisoners alike can learn not only what to expect of the system, but how to keep as much sanity and dignity as possible in such inhumane conditions. This book not only has the power to scare its reader straight, but also has the knowledge to empower readers to do the time without letting the time do you.

A valuable and wonderful piece of work, that may light fires in the minds of many, to not only live full, productive, life-affirming lives when they leave these joints, but also to see how to not even come this way... This book will better the lives of many, many people-both in and out of prison. --Mumia Abu Jamal, Award-Winning Journalist & internationally -renowned author, Penn. death row prisoner since 1982
