Hardcover with DJ. Gray cloth with gold lettering on red spine label. DJ is red print on a cream colored DJ. DJ is now in mylar sleeve, but has some faded smudges and a rectangle where a sticker was removed up near the title on the spine, affecting the word 'The' on the front cover. Book itself is in very good shape, with no marks or tears or signs of wear at all. Top edge stained red, as intended. No date on the title page. Copyright pages dated only 1959. 479 pages. DJ flap says that this is the 'first English translation' of the book, which was first published in German in 1934. This edition was translated by Popper himself, and includes more than 100 pages of new work, including a correspondence with Einstein. Popper's 1934 book was called Logik der Forshung in German. In it, he put forth the assertion that a theory can never be proven, but it can be shown to be untrue, thereby sending a generation of philosophers and scientists in search of disproving results rather than correlating ones.
