Lollie & Micks's Lessons from The Rainbow Bridge

Our pets are the best teachers of how to be good stewards of all God’s creatures

In this first, beautifully illustrated book from the forthcoming series, Lollie & Micks’s Lessons from The Rainbow Bridge, we are introduced to Grammie Rose, Lollie, and their cat, Micks. When Micks passes away Grammie uses the Rainbow Bridge to comfort Lollie and remind her of all the good things she did to care for Micks and how Lollie can teach her friends to care for their pets, too.

In this book, your child will learn how to:

• understand what the Rainbow Bridge is
• care for animals the way that God cares for us
• be good stewards
• comfort themselves when their pets die

Small acts of kindness and love go a long way, especially in today’s troubled world. Think of all the small gifts of loyalty and enjoyment our pets give to us every day; they warm our hearts and make us feel very special. Gifting the same love and kindness to our beloved pets is a wonderful way to show them our true appreciation. It is also a beautiful way to thank all of God’s creatures for making our lives happy and fulfilling, and for teaching us important life lessons. Just ask Job in the Bible!

In Job 12:7-10, we read: “But ask the animals, and they will teach you, the birds of the air, and they will tell you; ask the plants of the earth, and they will teach you, and the fish of the sea will declare to you. Who among all these does not know that the hand of the Lord has done this? In his hand is the life of every living thing and the breath of every human being.” If we are willing to open our hearts and minds, animals can teach us the importance of exercising dominion over them in the same way that God exercises dominion over us: with respect, love, patience, kindness, compassion, humility, and dignity. I believe God’s perfect plan for creation is for humankind to recognize and appreciate that all living beings are interconnected with, and interdependent upon each other. We cohabit God’s world equally, and it is up to us two-legged creatures to spread that message and make it our reality!
