The London Cookbook. Minimum Effort, Maximum Effect

I must tell you, right away, that his is not a serious cook book for serious cooks. It is, instead, a light-hearted and illogical mixture of history, old buildings, cookery ideas, and minimum effect recipes that allow us to lead our busy lives and still have a happy creative time in the kitchen. The food in this book is English, much of it traditional, though the manner of preparing it is not. The recipes are all test-cooked of course. They are also test-eaten, which is interesting. Illustrations. Illustrated laminated boards. 64 pp.
