439pp. Still well bound with wear to extremities of cover. Apart from some age staining & very occasional spotting interior in nice clean condition. A couple of pages have small tear- one with a loss of a few words, plus another page almost entirely torn away. Nonetheless still a fascinating read of scientific developments. Starts with a memoir of Sir Humphry Davy. A rubber stamp shows this once belonged to a Museum library & a 1966 owner's name & address on 1st blank.
