A delightfully idiosyncratic survey of 166 (or 164, as two are featured twice under different names) London taverns in the early 1960s. Listed in alphabetical order, and including the celebrated (eg Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese, reputedly Dr Johnson's favourite pub) and less well-known hostelries throughout Greater London. Fine b & w drawings by Miriam Macgregor enhance the text. As well as being an entertaining read, 'London Pubs' is a historical record as many of the featured pubs are no longer open. 3rd impression published in 1964 (first published 1962).
