London's New Routemasters

A visual history of London's iconic New Routemaster bus, from design competition to everyday service.

Inspired by the classic AEC Routemaster, the New Routemaster (later renamed) was the first bus specifically built for London since 1968. This book chronicles its journey, from Boris Johnson's vision and the design competition won by Wrightbus and Heatherwick Studios, to the unveiling of the prototype in 2011 and the delivery of 1,000 buses by 2017.

Featuring a dual-staircase and three doors, the New Routemaster has become a modern London landmark. Explore its design, routes, and impact on the city's transportation landscape through stunning photography and detailed historical context. A must-have for bus enthusiasts and anyone interested in London's unique public transport.
