Synopsis
Covers the land of the Mayas
Reviews
Brosnahan, a travel writer, offers this guide to the Mayan lands of Mexico, Guatemala, and Belize. His emphasis is Mayan history, culture, and archaeological sites, for which he provides a wealth of information. He details modes of travel, accommodations, food, restaurants, prices, and entertainment. His book's style is akin to that of Mexico and Central Ameri can Handbook, 1991 (Prentice-Hall, 1990), but the format is more presentable and easier to read. A good bibliography is provided, and Brosnahan plans updated editions. One important omission is the address of the U.S. Embassy in Belize. This is an excellent guide for those planning to visit Mayan sites and the surrounding vicinities. Maps not seen.
