About the Author
Frye Gaillard, former Southern editor of the Charlotte Observer, is a native of Mobile, Alabama, and a graduate of Vanderbilt University. He is the author of 14 books, including If I Were A Carpenter: Twenty Years of Habitat for Humanity; Watermelon Wine: The Spirit of Country Music; The Dream Long Deferred; and Kyle at 200 MPH.
Carolyn DeMeritt is a photographer and television producer whose award-winning work has been shown internationally. Her films have twice been nominated for an Emmy.
