Don't Look Back 'Cause There's Nobody There is a very interesting recap of Ken Volk's odyssey to become the first in human history to have run and completed a marathon on all seven continents of the world while at the same time raising money for children with cancer. Follow him as he trains, travels, visits orthopedic physicians and gets lost on a glacier. Never in danger of setting a world record, he nonetheless persisted in his quest. A very readable, enjoyable and amusing insight as to what it takes to overcome adversity and to become a marathoner.

About the Author
Ken Volk is a retired manufacturer who suffers from asthma and C.O.P.D. (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease) and yet disregarded these disabilities to persist in his quest to be the first to run a marathon on all seven continents of the world. A father of three, grandfather to ten, and husband of Diane for the past 47 years, Ken was born in 1938 and educated at the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School. With his glass over-flowing and never half-empty, he considers himself one of the luckiest people on Earth and his efforts to give back resulted in his raising almost $60,000 for children suffering with cancer. The outline of this memoir remained in his computer for 15 years after his having completed his goal until he, himself, was diagnosed with melanoma. Not once but twice. Realizing time could be short, he wrote this book for his grandchildren and as an inspiration to all who may have a disability, proving that anything is possible.
