About the Author

COLIN BENNETT was born in Robin Hood s Sherwood Forest, within arrow-shot of the Sheriff of Nottingham s castle. He left school after studying mathematics and science, became a professional musician, then a mercenary soldier for a time, before reading English at Balliol College, University of Oxford. He had several plays performed on the professional stage in London, including the Royal Court Theatre, before retraining as an electronics engineer to cure what he calls a bad dose of left-liberal decadence. He then ran his own electronics consultancy and printing firm. He has had two novels published, The Infantryman s Fear of Open Country, and The Entertainment Bomb, and he lives within spear-throwing distance of Portobello Road

Clevedon Community Bookshop, co-operatively owned, opened on 31 December 2011 and now has a general stock of approximately 20,000 books. Our Bookshop is in Copse Road in Clevedon and is open every day, seven days a week, from 10.00am to 5.00pm. The Bookshop Co-operative comprises nearly 650 members from around the world and was set up to stop the only second-hand bookshop in our town from closing. The benefit of being a member/shareholder is only social: no-one benefits financially. All profits are used to improve the bookshop and its stock, and, through events, to contribute to the literacy and literary profile of our town. We take care to describe our books accurately and in detail, and to pack them so that they arrive with you in the same condition that they leave us. However,
should you not be completely satisfied with your purchase, then you may return
the books(s) to us and, provided you do this within 30 days of receiving the
book(s), then we will fully refund the cost of the book and postage.

We pack our books in corrugated book wrap or book boxes. We try to respond to orders the same day as we receive them or during the next business day.
