Lorcan's Bane: a tale of peril & the right use of magic (Paperback or Softback)

Mirren was born to magic. A generational healer, she loves her craft and community and looks forward to a life of service. Tucked away from the world in Boann Tarns Valley, she never imagines that one man can threaten her way of life and the lives of women to come. Then Prelate Lorcan descends upon her father's inn and sets his sights on Mirren, unleashing nightmares that reveal the awful truth. She is the scion of natural magic, the pivot upon which one hundred generations of women will turn, and she must outsmart Lorcan before he destroys their future. Ariel, mysterious and alluring, only worsens Mirren's predicament, for he distracts her from honing her magic against Lorcan's threat. Her only choice is to flee to an ancient monastery in hopes of learning what she must do to survive. There, she walks between the worlds and discovers that her heart is her most potent weapon against the prelate. Even so, her final ordeal takes her to the brink of death, where she engages her primal magic and chooses love and life with Ariel.
