Lord, Make Us Instruments of Your Peace: An Experience with Prayer in Action and Action in Prayer

Each day we face a world rife with wars, natural disasters, injustice, and violence. How should we, as followers of Christ, respond? How do we decide what it is we are called to be and do in the midst of this suffering? Learning to discern God's call and serve in ways that reflect his love for all his creation requires intentional times of prayer and study before, during, and after we respond to the world's hurts and needs. Using the prayer attributed to St. Francis as a guide, this book will help you explore the ways in which Bible study, prayer, a variety of spiritual disciplines, and community engagement can help you to listen and respond to the leading of the Spirit so that you can follow Jesus in active and lived-out ways in your community and in the greater world.
