The Lord of The Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien. 1987 set consisting of 16th,14th,14th impressions, the first to be issued with this jacket design. Published by Unwin Hyman. Dust jacket designs based on illustrations by the author. Unclipped dust jackets, some fading to the spines, otherwise quite smart jackets. Mauve covers are tidy, clean, bright pages, there are marginal pen notes of the date (plus S.R.1419) that the original owner read each section of the book. In some rare cases up to four dates appear on a single page, many pages with no marks, complete with fold out maps. Without the pen notes would be very good condition, perhaps now just good.
